Spike Lee’s film, inspired by Marvin Gaye’s iconic 1971 album “What’s Going On,” pays tribute to Black Vietnam Veterans. Collaborating closely with Netflix and Spike, our team orchestrated an impactful 360-degree campaign, pushing creative boundaries. From psychedelic illustrations to army patch emojis, we meticulously upheld the authenticity of the era.

During the campaign, our team gravitated toward the artwork of activist Emory Douglas, former Minister of Culture for the Black Panther Party. This led to an innovative partnership with Gravillis x Emory, resulting in a distinctive poster and the creation of the short-film documentary “Revolution by Design: Emory Douglas x Spike Lee.” The documentary delves deep into the creative process behind the movie posters and features in-depth conversations between Spike and Emory.
