fifa world cup: launch edition/netflix
belong to the world's game
and make every match your own
netflix and fifa invited fans to experience the world cup in a new way. our job was not to interrupt the tournament, but to become part of it.
we gave netflix a place in the world cup conversation through a distinctive visual identity, an always-on social campaign and a live event in new york.
introducing the collaboration
football already had its heroes. netflix had its own. every crossover was designed to surprise fans, spark conversation and invite them into the game.
designed to feel discovered
we didn't invent a new football aesthetic—we borrowed from the way fans have always celebrated the game. torn posters, taped photos, magazine cutouts and layered ephemera came together to create an identity that felt collected over time rather than designed overnight.
culture in play
football moves fast. so did we. by listening to the community in real time, we found the stories worth building on and paired them with the netflix worlds fans already loved.
made for social
great social campaigns don't repeat themselves, they adapt. every asset was designed around the behavior, pace and language of the platform it lived on. from memes and gameplay to reactive moments and short-form video, the campaign maintained a consistent identity while feeling native wherever fans discovered it.
covering the moment
from on-site production in nyc to a remote editorial team in la, the campaign operated as a single creative newsroom. extending netflix games first live streamed event by live clipping, rapid editing and real-time community management extended the event beyond the livestream, bringing its biggest moments to fans around the world.
